WOW pick for April 13th!

It's once again time to join Jill at Breaking the Spine for her weekly Wednesday Meme "Waiting on Wednesday" and this week I am waiting for..
The Bake-off by Beth Kendrick.

New to me author..and here is what amazon has to say.

Product Description
"Exceptionally entertaining and wonderfully original" (Chicago Tribune), Beth Kendrick delivers a funny story about family, self- discovery, and the pursuit of the perfect pie crust.

Suburban soccer mom Amy has always wanted to stand out from the crowd. Former child prodigy Linnie just wants to fit in. The two sisters have been estranged for years, but thanks to a series of personal crises and their wily grandmother, they've teamed up to enter a national bake-off in the hopes of winning some serious cash. Armed with the top-secret recipe for Grammy's apple pie, they should be unstoppable. Sure, neither one of them has ever baked anything more complicated than brownie mix, but it's just pie-how hard could it be?

Stop by later this week and I will be announcing another contest!

Oh, wow, this sounds like my kind of book! :D I love watching baking competitions, and reading novels that involve baking are even more fun (if not hunger-inducing). Thank you for sharing, it's definitely going on the TBR list. Happy reading!

Dear Joy,
John and I were in a terrible car accident on the freeway 3 weeks ago. John is home now. I broke 15 ribs and my sternum and am still in the hospital. Blogging is my window to the outside world. I just wanted to stop by and let you know. Hopefully, I will be able to get off of pain pills before long and I can start reading some of the books you recommend.
How is your new precious grandbaby doing? I know you are enjoying that little one.
Please pray for me. Thanks, Lura
